Teacher’s Profile – Lynn

Puah Lynn Dee started learning piano at the age of 6. She obtained ABRSM piano Grade 8 with distinction and ABRSM theory Grade 8 with Merit under Ms Sarah Tay, who is currently pursuing her music teaching career in Sydney. She then obtained her ATCL Diploma and ALCM diploma respectively under the tutelage of Mr Miles Choi, and was invited to perform in the Trinity Concert and Awards Ceremony. Lynn Dee has also been tutored by Ms. Hau Ping Ping. In addition, she has also had masterclass with renowned Singapore pianist Mr Ong Lip Tat.

Besides piano, Lynn Dee plays the violin and passed ABRSM grade 5 examination, tutored by Mr Yap Pheck Chuan. She had also completed NIE percussion modules during her study in NTU, under the coaching of Mr Lim Meng Keh. She was the accompanist for Foon Yew School Choir during her secondary school years. She participated many concerts and competitions as a piano accompanist and choir member and won numerous awards. She is experienced in accompanying for instruments such as erhu and violin too.

With much exposure in different music areas, Lynn Dee was invited to teach the Children Choir of South Front Music School of JB, the Children Choir of Cantonese Association of JB, and music class at the Tzu Chi Kindergarten JB

Lynn Dee has over 20 years of experiences in teaching piano, teaching students aged 4 years to adults. Under her guidance, many students achieve Distinctions in their graded piano examinations. She produced many award-winning students in competitions such as the Vienna Virtuoso Music Competition, Hong Kong Pacific Piano Open Competition, Singapore Raffles International Music Festival, The Happy Pianist Music Festival, Ars Nova Festival. She was awarded Teaching Excellence Award and Outstanding Teacher Award by the East West Arts Association from 2020-2023, and Teacher of award-winning pianist by The Happy Pianist Festival in 2021. To enhance students’ exposure, Lynn Dee organises students’ concert annually and seek various opportunities for students to showcase their talents.
